I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate (Build 7000) on an HP Compaq DC5000 SFF (Intel Pentium 4 - 2.8GHz, 4.00 GB RAM). It comes with an Intel 82865G Graphics Controller imbedded. I downloaded the latest driver verion from Intel (version 6.). However, I keep having hard locks when using various software mostly involving video, but not always. As such, I have to use the build-in Standard VGA Graphics Adapter.
I have tried installing the Intel video adapter under the Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2) compatibility and as the Run as Administrator setting, but I still have hard locks. Does anyone have an idea how I can get the right video driver working?

Arthur Xie - MSFT. I turn off aerosnap, else I get freezes. I use this unsigned driver: with this driver, I can play solitaire. But can't playback MP4s using WMP12.
WMP12 with Std VGA driver uses 100% CPU. Use Mplayer for Windows instead; however this is pixellated when using the std VGA driver. The normal, safe driver from Intel will do the same thing and maybe even play videos better, I suggest you use Intel's driver and not the one g4qber has listed. Please use these links: Hello!
